Dr. Michael D. Herrera

Dr. Herrera is an experienced eye care professional, having 30 years in the field. Yet, he and his staff remain current with cutting edge instrumentation and technologies. They gather the newest information by attending continuing education seminars every few months. The doctor began practice while in the United States Air Force, in 1975, after graduation from Optometry School at Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. He has practiced in various areas of northern New Mexico since that time, but has always had a central office in Santa Fe. Consequently, he feels it is important to keep in touch with patients from all over the northern part of the state, and maintains an 800 telephone number for your convenience. Dr. Herrera is one of a select group of doctors nationwide, who have participated in various research and development projects, and symposiums, to further the improvement of eye care technology for all of us. He is a member in good standing of the New Mexico and the American Optometric Associations and is certified to prescribe or administer both topical and oral pharmaceutical agents for eye disease. He maintains excellent referral relationships with New Mexico eye surgeons, so you may be assured of the best possible care.
